Well you guys, tonight just after midnight I’m be exactly 40 years old!! We might not be in Maui celebrating with friends and family near and far as planned... but I’m grateful nonetheless for the friends we were able to celebrate with, and our beautiful day today and the plans we were able to make for tomorrow. I’m very grateful, and yeah, I’m FORTY! Those close to me know how I’ve been planning how I’ll celebrate this birthday for years. You never know what’s coming so maybe the lesson is to let go. This is a tad late, but HAPPY WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY YOU GUYS!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In light of the past year think it’s more important than ever to share and normalize issues, and I know I’ve certainly appreciated reading posts like this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

No one is perfect, and this year it’s been more of a challenge than ever for so many… we have certainly had more stress than usual to deal with and a lot of challenges and transitions, more than expected. But we’re getting through it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Personally, I have ADHD... i was diagnosed as a child but I never took medication as my parents were wary of the side effects and as an adult I didn’t think I needed it... it wasn’t until after I had kids because I had semi-effectively managed it in other ways but the sleep deprivation of having three babies in a row was too much. It has made all the difference! Without medication, I daydream a lot, and really find it hard to concentrate on anything I don’t find interesting, and if I’m out somewhere noisy, I find it tough to focus on a conversation...I can’t function well without a schedule and list in front of me.. I get overwhelmed easily and I can be extremely impulsive.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I have definitely had counselling for the tough times in my life and I think it’s great to normalize getting help.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This year has been a tough one for many. I hear from many close to me that they’ve been seeking counselling for the first time. Self care is so important, and seeking help is healthy! I’ve had to learn this, and needed to hear it. So for anyone that needs to hear this here it is! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s ok to be where you’re at. It’s ok to not be ok and you don’t have to put out a perfect image. It’s OK to ask for help and reach out and share. Let’s be real! Loads of love everyone! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
