Global music violinist Sophie Armstrong is set to return to the stage after a five-year absence. Despite facing significant challenges, Armstrong’s unwavering passion for music has fueled her determination to recover from injuries sustained in a car accident.
When most musicians were returning to the stage post Covid, Armstrong’s career was again put on hold when she suffered a major injury in a devastating car accident in Kelowna, in late 2021. With a torn labrum and detached shoulder muscles, the violinist attempted to return to the stage twice before having surgery in 2023. After two and a half years of rehabilitation and extensive treatments, Armstrong is ready to test the waters with her rehab almost complete, and give local Kelowna fans to a sneak peek of her latest musical creations. The global music artist will be gracing the stage at Rotary Arts Centre in her hometown of Kelowna BC, where she will publicly perform for the first time since her injuries.
Armstrong will join the Aspire Gala for the Central Okanagan Performing Arts Festival as a special guest with other professionals and festival winners in an evening of entertainment and celebration, hosted by Loyal Wooldridge, at the Rotary Arts Centre in Kelowna.
