There are performances that live in concert halls, and then there are the ones you don’t expect — like Monday night when I found myself at a fabulous event, as the guest violinist at the grand opening of Okotoks Toyota, Alberta’s newest dealership.
The evening was surreal with aerial artists spinning and dancing above the showroom floor with the gleam of new cars catching the light right alongside them. It’s not every day your violin shares a stage with acrobats and a fleet of Toyotas!
The evening opened with a land acknowledgment led by local Indigenous community members, grounding the celebration with history amid all the fanfare. It was a fabulous audience!
