As a violinist, I’ve had the privilege of performing at numerous events, but opening the prestigious 2012 White Hat Awards in Calgary remains one of the most memorable experiences of my career. The White Hat Awards, an annual event organized by Tourism Calgary, recognizes excellence in the city’s tourism and hospitality industry, celebrating the best of what Calgary has to offer.
Dressed in a stunning ensemble by one of my favourite designers, Sherri Hill, I took to the stage to welcome the guests, nominees, and attendees with a violin performance. The atmosphere was electric, as everyone came together to honour the hard work and dedication of those who make Calgary a world-class destination.
Performing at such a significant event was an immense honour, and a testament to Calgary’s vibrant arts and culture scene. The White Hat Awards are a reminder of the importance of collaboration between industries, and a showcase of the incredible talent our city has to offer.
As I played, I felt such amazing energy from the room — so much pride and joy. It was wonderful to be part of an event celebrating excellence and the collective achievements of our community. The 2012 White Hat Awards will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’m grateful to have been part of such an extraordinary evening.
