Last night I was invited to perform at the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation Gala Dinner in Calgary, held at the beautiful Fairmont Palliser. It was a truly elegant evening from start to finish — the kind of grand, old-world setting that makes you want to slow down and take it all in.
I was honoured to be the featured entertainment for the night. There’s something special about being trusted with an entire room for an evening like that, knowing your job is to add to the atmosphere and give the night its own heartbeat. Playing for a room gathered around a cause always feels more purposeful, and I felt that all night.
One of my favourite parts of nights like this is the people you meet. I had the pleasure of meeting former Olympian Michelle Cameron — a genuine thrill, and a great reminder of how these evenings bring together people from completely different worlds, all united by a shared cause.
I left the Fairmont Palliser full of gratitude — for the invitation, the beautiful setting, and another reminder of how lucky I am to do what I do. Here’s to more evenings like that one.
