Dear friends,

The song “Trapeze” is a fun little ode to my days performing in Istanbul, where I had the freedom to experiment with my show.

I’d often start the show atop a trapeze, then come down and roam the room and the podium while everyone sat at dinner tables, performing right among them for a truly intimate experience. Very Parisian!

The relaxed vibe, the fun, the drama of it all — just so fabulous. I loved being there, performing at Club 360 Istanbul: the excitement and surprise of a circus, the drama of a small Parisian theatre. Over about 50 shows, I grew to love the city and this new way of performing.

Walking the streets of Istanbul with the other performers — from Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and beyond — we discovered the city together, travelling back and forth across Europe. It felt like time stood still: young, single, no one waiting for us at home, and all of us so open to discovering new things. Limitless!
